October 8th, 2008 · No Comments · Food Borne Illness, Food Safety, Listeria, Recalls

Canadians, who have suffered over a dozen deaths to listeria from lunch meats, are not over the listeria scare yet. After the lunch meats, several cheeses were recalled due to listeria, and now it’s lunch meats again.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a warning against Dunn’s Famous smoked meat pouches, which are sold at Costco in Quebec, the Atlantic provinces, and Ottawa. The listeria was discovered by the company in their own inspections, and the product is being recalled.

There have been no illnesses reported associated with this product.
