MILK RECALLED DUE TO MELAMINE

October 14th, 2008 · No Comments · FDA, Food Borne Illness, Food Safety

HUA XIA, Flushing, New York, is recalling boxes of YILI Brand Sour Milk Drink because it may be contaminated with melamine.

The product is distributed in New York City through Asian grocery stores. FDA tests revealed the product contains melamine, a known carcinogen, which Chinese farmers and processors have added to their milk products to make them appear to contain more protein.
