CRACKDOWN ON NYC RESTAURANTS

The notorious NY Health Department shut down over 1700 restaurants in 2009, 27 percent more than in 2008. According to the Daily News, it wasn’t because more restaurants were violating the rules, it was because the Health Department actually got around to inspecting almost all of them.

COOKIES RECALLED NATIONWIDE

Koala March Cookies
The Lotte Company, Battle Creek, Michigan, is recalling all of its Koala March cookies because they were manufactured in China and “may” contain melamine.
The cookies were distributed nationwide and in Canada. The recall includes nine different brands, according to the FDA.

MILK RECALLED DUE TO MELAMINE

WARNING ISSUED ON CROAKER IN NEW YORK

The New York State Agriculture Commissioner warned consumer not to eat frozen salted Croaker, distributed by YS Trading in New York and New Jersey.
The Croaker is uneviscerated, which could lead to botulism, because botulism is more concentrated in the guts of the fish than any other part.

CADBURY PULLS CHOCOLATES FOR POSSIBLE MELAMINE CONTAMINATION
