The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued an alert warning consumers not to consume Smith Snacks Chicken Club Twister sandwiches because they may be contaminated with listeria bacteria.
The company is voluntarily recalling the product after the contamination was discovered. There have been no reports of illnesses. Listeria, however, can be especially harmful in pregnant women.

The USDA is naming names, specifically the names of 21 broiler chicken plants that have at least ten percent salmonella infection. A Canadian company, Inovata Foods, is recalling several thousand pounds of frozen chicken entrees distributed to several places in the United States. According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the chickens may be contaminated with listeria.
