COOKIES RECALLED NATIONWIDE

Koala March Cookies
The Lotte Company, Battle Creek, Michigan, is recalling all of its Koala March cookies because they were manufactured in China and “may” contain melamine.
The cookies were distributed nationwide and in Canada. The recall includes nine different brands, according to the FDA.

AUNT MID’S DENIES IT IS THE SOURCE OF MICHIGAN E. COLI

Aunt Mid’s Produce Co. is denying that its lettuce was the source of an e. coli outbreak that sickened some three dozen Michiganders.

MICHIGAN E. COLI HITS 35

The number of E. coli cases linked to iceberg lettuce processed in Detroit has risen to 35, according to the Detroit News.
The company, Aunt Mid’s, has suspended shipments while it continues to search for the source of the E. coli. The lettuce was only shipped to restaurants and institutions, not to grocery stores.

NEBRASKA BEEF RECALLED FROM ALL KROGER STORES

In addition to the ground beef it has removed from its stores in Michigan and Ohio, Kroger Co. is removing some ground-beef products from its Smith’s Food & Drug stores in Utah. KROGER RECALLS GROUND BEEF

The grocery chain, Kroger Co., is recalling all of its ground beef products sold between May 21 and June 8 thoughout Michigan and Ohio. The beef was linked to an E. coli strain that has sickened several people in those two states, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

ECOLIOHIO — Sixteen cases of e. coli confirmed

Sixteen cases of E. coli in central Ohio are being investigated by both federal and state officials, according to the Columbus Post-Dispatch. The source is expected to be identified by mid-week, but similar cases in Michigan are believed to be related to ground beef.
