ALFALFA DID IT — Source of Northwest salmonella discovered

Sprouters Northwest, of Kent, Washington, has recalled its alfalfa products, after they have been linked to 13 cases of salmonella poisoning in Washington and Oregon. The company was involved in a recall of alfalfa in 2004, too, after being linked to a salmonella outbreak, according to the FDA.

OYSTERS R INFECTED

The Washington State Health Department has issued a warning regarding the consumption of oysters. They may be infected with a bacteria that causes Vibriosis, which could be fatal in some cases.
The public health officials said that anyone buying fresh oysters should refrigerate them immediately and cook them thoroughly to a temperature of 145 degrees.
